The seller of this 1980/1986 TAM 110 says it is the only one in the country and that it was originally purchased from a border patrol station in Serbia. TAM stands for Tovarna Avtomobilov Maribor, who apparently built the trucks for the Yugoslav army based on the design of the German Magirus-Deutz design. The seller is an active duty soldier and we can’t help but smile at the shots of the truck with the windshield dropped and parked in this garage. Fantastic! The seller says that the truck runs and drives well, and several enhancements have been made including custom wheels, 47′ tires and all new fuel lines.
Power comes from a 5.8L air-cooled Diesel engine that the seller claims offers good parts availability in the USA. The transmission and transfer case are heavy duty ZF units.
We couldn’t leave out the rain shot below, which looks like something out of Predator. This might be the BaT rig of choice for the zombie apocalypse.
This truck feels like a Land Rover Forward Control 4×4 or steroids. We love the shortened deuce-and-a-half pick-ups, but this seems like a nice alternative, and the seller who is familiar with both says that the more modern technology in this one makes it a good alternative. We dig it.
